This Week in Neosho Baseball: May 20 – 26

This is the first week of the off season.  The Wildcats finished their season strong advancing to the District Championship game before being eliminated by Willard.  The Varsity Wildcats finished their season 15-9.  The NBA teams continue to play in weekend tournaments.

14U: Sandlot Tournament Added May 18

The 14U team will be playing at the Sandlot Baseball Complex located near Miller.  Game times for Saturday are 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and approximately 5:30 PM.  This is a one day tournament.

NE Oklahoma State University to Workout Wildcats

Northeastern Oklahoma State University will work out former Wildcats Sibo Bohannon and Tyler Marion as well as several other players today at the high school baseball field. If you would like to see either of the former Wildcats perform another time you are welcome to come and watch. Start time will be around 3:30 PM.

G23: Willard 11, Neosho 7

The Wildcats finished 2nd in the District.  Their final record was 15-9. The game was full of momentum swings and opportunity.  The Wildcats showed fight all the way to the end of the night loading the bases and bringing the tying run to the plate after being down 9 in the 5th inning. 

“These seniors have taken our program to a new level,” Coach Pennington said after the game.  “They have shown a never give up attitude and embraced each other as family.  They’ve grown as young men and will continue to have success in life as they all move forward. I am very proud of each and everyone of them.”

Wildcats to Play for District Championship Tonight!

The Wildcats will face the Willard Tigers in the Class 5, District 12 Championship game Tuesday night at Willard.  The Wildcats have knocked off two higher seeded teams this week including the #4 Joplin Eagles and the #1 Carthage Tigers.  Carthage was also ranked #2 in the state.  We encourage you to make the drive to Willard to support our boys and share in their success.  We appreciate any and all support!

Monday the Wildcats beat the Carthage Tigers 12-6 to move to the District Championship game Tuesday night.  They will match up against the host and #2 seed, Willard Tigers.

The Wildcats took down the #1 seed Monday night in the District Tournament at Willard.  The Wildcats will play in the District Championship against Willard at 6:00 PM.
